Brief
The Advancement Project organization introduced the Right to Education timeline. Their mission is to support local communities of people of color and fight criminalization and demonization. They aim to re-establish and invest in historical or political points that would help move black communities to take action.
Idea
The aim was to create a timeline with different sections that narrate the history of the Reformation of Education in the United States. The timeline primarily focuses on the segregation of schools, the political events that took place within schools, as well as the current challenges that the educational system faces, while also highlighting the obstacles that African Americans had to overcome to achieve equal rights.
Process
We carefully examined the content provided and used it to create a draft by developing imagery and content styles. We made certain modifications to enhance the visual appeal of the posters by adjusting the print size and picture quality. Our objective was to ensure that there was a seamless connection between each timeline, thereby highlighting the visual continuity of the timeline itself.
We created a static timeline illustrating the evolution of American education in various formats to provide an overview for students and adults.
