Brief
I participated in creating a logo mark for The New York City Privately Owned Public Space (POPS). They hosted an open competition for creators to design a logo mark for their organisation. Having a strong background in being in New York public space, I participated in the competition. Their values and mission aligned with mine, making the design process enjoyable.

Idea
The idea phrase of “green space” helped guide the creation of the logo mark, and this helped reinforce the future mission for the organisation. Guiding the importance of comfort and quietness that P.O.P.S. provides for the citizens of New York.

Process
I selected an elegant plant to illustrate by hand, then gave it geometrical proportions for the logo mark. I was able to create the logo mark base on the visual aspect and the assumption that there isn’t a park in Manhattan except for Central Park. I selected a simple yet elegant plant to illustrate by hand then gave it geometrical proportions for the logo mark. Although I did not win the competition, I was thrilled to contribute to a good cause.
